Geometric figures rest in alignment on a sort of table. The support of the work consists of two pieces of canvas adhered together; the horizon that delineates this table is precisely the junction of both canvases, lending a certain volume to the painting. The black background fades, revealing the raw surface of the canvas. As is typical of Diciervo's painting, the composition is not a mere abstraction or a geometric still life, but rather evokes a metaphysical and surreal atmosphere, reinforced here by the title.

Jorge Diciervo (Chivilcoy, 1947–2024) was a self-taught artist whose work, developed from the 1970s onward, encompassed painting, sculpture, drawing, and collage. He received grants from the Italian government and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York. Among the numerous awards he has received are the Second Braque Prize (1980), the Francisco Romero Prize from the National Endowment for the Arts (1983), the First Prize at the Chandon Biennial at the National Museum of Fine Arts (1993), the Trabucco Acquisition Prize from the National Academy of Fine Arts (1996), and the Fortabat Prize from the National Museum of Fine Arts (1999). He has held more than fifty solo exhibitions, and his work is part of public and private collections in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, the United States, Italy, France, Switzerland, and Belgium.
