As the main theme, the American continent -in the limits where said English company operates- and in seven windows, different areas of it addressed in more detail; among them, the Strait of Magellan, the port of Acapulco, the Galapagos Islands, Juan Fernando, Chiloé, and remarkable for us, the nonexistent and ghostly Pepys Island, located in the vicinity of the Falkland Islands.

The South Sea Company was a British commercial company that just a couple of years later -in 1713- was benefited with the exclusive right for thirty years to supply black African slaves in the American dominions of Spain, a modality known under the name of "Black seat”. In that period, it had to provide a total of 144,000 slaves from Africa, at a rate of 4,800 per year. The letter of the agreement also allowed him to introduce the merchandise necessary for the sustenance of the blacks in the landing ports; but the truth is that, protected by this clause, the English sold other products without the corresponding payment of customs fees, carrying out a profitable illegal business that gave rise to serious disputes with the local authorities.

Among the destinations indicated in the agreement was the port of Buenos Aires: it was allowed to arrive with four ships per year. Precisely in this town, the South Sea Company bought Miguel de Riglos a large house located in the Retiro. S.E.H-IX-HBM
