Buenos Aires Album 1887. Establishment of Lithography, Printing and Binding "La Unión" by Stiller & Laass on 160 San Martín Street, Buenos Aires.

Very beautiful. Album in 24 ° (9.7 x 12.8 cm / 3.81 x 5.03 in), with 12 sepia prints based on photographs taken by Samuel Boote (8.5 x 11.4 cm / 3.34 x 4.48 in), with their titles in Spanish, French, English and German. Original binding in full red and gold embossed cloth, with titles. Good copy.

Samuel Boote's work is reflected in these urban views over the most representative recently built buildings in the city and the port of Buenos Aires. The aerial shot over the passenger dock, with its boats, stands out. The commercial partnership of Stiller and Laass was the basis on which the very important graphic establishment "Compañía Sud Americana de Billetes de Banco" of Buenos Aires was later formed.

One of the most notable Argentine photographers, Samuel Boote (1844 - 1921), was also a successful photographic editor. Its views of Buenos Aires are among the most beautiful and sought after.

Small pocket album publishing was a fad among travelers in the late 19th century who wanted to showcase New World cities in Europe; In the present case, the 12 views of Buenos Aires present an attractive panorama of more than one meter thirty in length. SEH-IX
